Collecting Vibrations

Today, I have been working on collecting vibrations from the environment. These initial tests have uncovered environmental vibrations (from water, power and HVAC systems) as well as from object vibrations (from kettles and microwaves).

Using videos shot on my phone I collected these vibrations quickly and then played them back through a surface transducer with various materials acting as the resonator. The test was to see if I could capture the feel of these vibrations and then recreate it later through another material. I am curious to see if I could capture the nature of the vibrations from boiling water or a rotating microwave so that they might be recognisable in a different medium.
